Thor Odinson is the All-father of Asgard /God of Thunder, offspring of All-Father Odin & Elder-Goddess Gaea. Combining the powers of both realms makes him an elder-god hybrid and a being of no perceivable limits. Armed with his enchanted Uru hammer Mjolnir which helps him to channel his godly energies. The mightiest and the most beloved warrior in all of Asgard, a staunch ally for good and one of the most powerful beings in the multiverse/omniverse. Thor is also a founding member of the Avengers.
I don't think you get my point, for someone who has lived for thousands of years he lets his power go to his head a lot of the time
Like Superman (this part of the comment was a Joke), that would deepend on the Writer, like a lot of things about the character.
that's true for any character, but honestly it happens to thor more than most, Ever heard of his condition Warrior's madness? and also I, @samuel_larson_10 said:
he's a very stupid 2,000 year old norse god
for someone who has lived for thousands of years he's definitely below average in intelligence.

So... you quote yourself to prove a fact that is not true... is not a bad thing quote yourself... buuuuut... you are wrong...

Deal with it.
exactly, what am I wrong about? his intelligence is officially rated as two, so...

Thor being bellow the normal intelligence, dude is a Doctor.
donald blake? yes. Thor? no. Donald blake is a fabrication, a lie. A completely different personality. I have not read one comic where thor acts intelligent. I love thor and I don't hate him, but Thor is not a very smart man. He rushes in and never suspects traps and just smashes his way through obstacles. he may not be below average human intelligence but for someone over two thousand years old he is not clever. Face the facts man.
Thor's weakness? Kurt Busiek, Craig Kyle, Christopher Yost, Joe Quesada, and writer's that are more fans of Superman than Thor.
Any other questions?
Seriously, written to his potential, Thor should be Marvel's go to guy when facing down end of the earth/galaxy threats.
Thor's weakness should be his clumsyness, his nobility, his lack of true superspeed and his hotheadedness, rushing into difficult fights without thinking
but yes I agree some people can't write Thor
Busiek is one of those who can't get Thor
Kurt Busiek crossover
the same man
who thought Thor can be injured by a bullet
an
but Kurt Busiek isn't the only one respomsible for writing crap
over the years we had Batman beat Hulk with a gas bomb and kick to the gut
Taking away his hammer, if thor were to have his hammer taken away from him he would be severely weakened, probably to the point that the juggernaut could take him.
Thor is simply vulnerable to very high-level magical and energy attacks as well as physical attacks from beings whose physical strength and durability is quite high; ranging from approaching his own strength and durability to, obviously, surpassing it.
Thor does have weaknesses....in fact, most if not all Marvel characters have some sort of weakness. Here are a few areas that you can consider to be weaknesses of Thor:
(1) Powerful Magic (and his dependency of it)
(2) Advanced Science, Technology, and Intelligence. Kang, Mister Fantastic, Tony, Black Panther, etc...are capable of defeating Thor. Although Thor would be my favorite to win in one on one battles against these characters but I wouldn't be that surprised if he lost and/or stalemate against these characters.
(3) Thor is extremely long lived but he's not immortal. In other words, he can be killed.
(4) Beings who have an advantage in one or more of the following areas: strength, speed, intelligence, and fighting ability. While in flight, Thor can move faster than light but in battle / fighting he's on a metahuman level. In other words, his combat speed isn't that great and that's why stuff like this can happen to the God of Thunder.
(5) Equal or Greater Powerful Beings. Thanos, Odin, Zeus, etc... Or beings who are not more powerful than Thor but have unique powers...like Iceman, Molecule Man, Magneto, Absorbing Man, etc....
* Thor's weaknesses and other characters weaknesses are only limited to your imagination. Thor should have weaknesses because it makes a more interesting comic character.
His main weaknesses are magical/cosmic powers and his own hubris at times. It's the weakness of all big powerhouses that they are sometimes over confident in their own incredible strength and durability.
Idk why ppl think Thor is stupid . He retains whatever knowledge his human counterparts so he had an MD & other degrees technically . & Thor had shown to use some intelligence in battle too . I think his only weakness was his arrogance & now is really only weakness is the earth itself . He loves this rock too much & would do anything for it .
@walker696: Well sir Betta was already on his level if you recall that he beat him hand to hand without Mjolnir. In the Crossover if it is the one I am thinking of, you cannot go by that at all. Any time someone wins because of fan votes is sad. The fan voted outcome Crossover where Thor had to loose because he lost to a more popular hero is so sad. You are on of a few to state it correctly though, Thor's weakness is to others that have more powerful magic. The way Odin took his powers, gave them back and so on, great job i'm impressed. Also people keep mentioning that Thor is lost without Mjolnir and that isn't so, besides giving him the ability to fly somewhat faster it really doesn't do a whole lot!
@hubjubjub: Hey I didn't read all comments since there is so much nonsense here so if someone answered sorry to repeat. Thor's only weakness is a foe of greater Magic. See how Odin makes him Mortal, takes his power, gives it back, reduces it so Hercules could beat him and so on. Magic foes of Greater Power will mess him up. Hope that helped. Also no one can match his abilities even with Mjolnir since he is the most Physically Powerful Asgardian with part Elder God giving him so much more untapped potential we have yet to see.
@deadcool... I think that guy is trolling you. Donald Blake IS THOR and is not an alter ego of Thor's much like Superman and Clark are the same, they just seem to want to diminish Thor's intellect. Thor on top of having his doctorate has been working with the avengers for years using some of the most advanced machinery and computers known to man so he is extremely intelligent. Also living for millions of years has taught him tons and if you notice every time he comes to a battle he always knows who the villains are and he identifies their powers and developes strategies to win. Thor has what he calls the gift of Forgetfullness making anyone he wishes forget anything or anyone, he can see and hear throughout the universe and travel there in seconds, he can speak all languages to any race or multiple races at once using one voice (not repeating himself in individual tongues but they all hear him in their own at the same time), Skilled tactician for millenia, he has lead Asgard into battle against overwhelming forces with great leadership and employing strategies and tactics, and lastly
Gifted Intellect: Thor possessed and retains the medical knowledge as Donald Blake, as Thor. Early in his comics appearances, Blake also possessed scientific knowledge enabling him to build an android with an IQ of 375 and durable enough to withstand the blows from Thor's hammer. Thor's time among Tony Stark and the Avengers also gave him great knowledge of complex Earthly systems of electronics and the ability to modify the systems for his own purposes. However, his scientific skills have not been mentioned later in his career.
he doesn't have a real weakness but as being a arrogant and eagered to fight he often ignores more obvious risk and always fail on them, plus he holds back with most mortals he has hold back eve with Hulk since his full amount of power could destroy a planet casual.
