Loki would be a good pick as well exspecially since he has jsut returned (kinda differantly lol). He seems to be working with Doom. I could see the two of them makeing a plan and giveing him his first defeat since his return.

I can see only sheer power beating Thor (like with Beta Ray Bill). They are not that many on earth that can match him. He won against the Destroyer. One on one, who can it be? Other than the Sentry.

It's been said that Bendis wants Thor to lose to Ares or Ares/Sentry in a upcomeing Avengers comic. I hope its not just Ares alone (a guy who Thor has beaten the snot out of throughout the years).

I think the Loki/Doom team-up could pull it off. Thier up to something and I tihnk it might have to do with something like the game Marvel Ultimate Alliance. But thats what Im thinking atm.

If not that then Doom is just makeing sure he has his bases covered for this invasion with help from rogue asgardians.

I can see the Sentry with Ares for a win but not Ares alone. Hercules just handed him a good one.

I would like for them to have Hercules use his Nemian Lion's skin. He would be that much more dangerous.

Cause sentry is barely a much for Thor at a 1/3 of Thor's power! Thor has taken on and beaton gods and deities that would make sentry look like less than a rookie!

Ps I noticed you said ALMOST a match for the hulk! almost never counts in these battles! if sentry fights Thor, the only one who's reverting back to puny human form is sentry, and then thor flicks bob with his pinky, and says "well done, good effort, thanx for helping me kill some time, and then calls in jane foster and heals him back to his feat and they share sh#t load of mead and he learns as much as he can from the thunder god and is astounded over his tales of victory over the last few thousand years"!

Almost, like Thor. Thor was never a match for Hulk with strength alone. Sentry strength is class 100 like them both. If there is a difference between him and Thor, it would be like him and Herc. Sentry is new but his power is awesome. After some experience, I see him surpassing Thor in everyway.

I actually don't mind sentry, it's just that i don't think he hangs with the likes of Thor or Surfer! he's not in there league and i just don't believe he ever will be! he's human and too mentally unbalanced! I honestly can't believe that you could come up with a formula and inject it into someone and make them on the same power level as someone like, say surfer or thor! cause then your saying that humans could do the same thing as galactus, empower someone with power unimaginable! kinda takes away the threat of someone like Galactus and his power! thats why i believe it's alot of hpyerbole, with all this power of a million exploding suns! it's just a catch phrase, doesn't mean anything! sure as hell didn't mean anything when he took on world war hulk, and he was supposed to be cutting loose! sentry is good and strong, but just not on surfer or thor level!

Could ultimate thor take out 616 thor? I personally don't think so and don't think he's close to 616 thor.

Won't argue with that! I wonder, how current thor would fair against thanos, with thor not holding back these days! I think most people agree that he doesn't have the OF, and pretty much certainly doesn't have Rune magic! but if he doesn't have the odinforce, and odin still isn't around, where is the odinforce?

Where ever Odin is I gather. My thing as far as Thor not holding back is when I came to fighting his friends. With others like Magog, Kurse and others of their level, he would have been a fool to hold back. I think the writer is using this as a means to have Thor be more powerful since he no longers has the odinforce.

Yeah, pretty much! I think JMS is basically saying thor is powerfull enough as he is without the odinforce, just on his own powers, especially now that he's added some of his mother's gifts/powers, the earth godess, Gaea/Gaia! I guess with the odinforce, he becomes too powerfull for most others!

The Ult Thor wouldnt stand a chance against the mainstream version.

As for if Thor has the odinforce or not (I think not) and if not where is it. I believe that it is locked away with the mortal shell of Odin, and I also believe Doom has that sad individual prisoner. Doom and Loki try to wrestle that power out so they can gain it for themselves.

Another example why I do not think Thor has the Odinforce atm is IF he did he would not need Heindall's senses to locate all the missing asgardians for him. He would be ble to do it on his own.

On a side note, it totally annoys me that marvel has chosen to turn loki into a woman. If you want a great female villain use enchantress, lorelei, or Karnilla, but don't transform Loki into a girl.

I didn't like issue 5 much altogether. The first 4 were great, I got all excited, then was like WTF?

It still has not been said if he does or does not have the Odinforce still. I believe he does not have it atm.

I agree wit the Loki being female thing you said. There are plenty of female asgardians they could use. HOWEVER I could see them haveing Loki as a female for a while so he might give birth to his sons again (Fenris and the Midgard Serpant).
