Thor is above the pay-grade of the Xmen so they need to keep him occupied.

This. The X-Men do not have an answer to Thor so they needed something that would sufficiently challenge him so the story could continue and a full-fledged Phoenix Force without the restraints of a host would be about all that could from the current gathering.

Colosuss with the power of the Juggernaut could only (arguably) match Thor in terms of physical strength and durability. He has nothing that could ward off any of Thor's other offensive capabilities and definately nothing that can stop Mjolnir. If Thor reverts to brawler mentality like he often does with the Hulk than it could be argued that Colossus could give him a run, but the second he remembers that he can actually fight and he is not just a brick, the fight is over.

What are you talking about? He lost to Mar-Vell twice in the same issue.

As much as I like Thor, at least the X-Men get something from the AvX series after Magneto lost out to Iron man, and Thing beat Namor. It's been to one sided for me currently, I'm glad X-men got a win but against Thor -.-

I knew deep down that with the way the fights were shaping up that there were gonna be some bad outcomes I haven't even been reading the books and I knew this. As earlier post stated moving Thor to space took a big hitter from Avengers while some of the X-mens big hitters were taking out in dumb ways. I say Tony with prep could take Magneto(which he did have don't forget that, the man is a genius and he's fought Mags quite a few times before), now Thing winning I have no idea how that happened Namor literally has every advantage over him. I have to admit even how Rulk beat Colossus was cheap in my book but ol well
