After a long and i mean long time of nerdrage i need to say i really like this costume and my previous comment were just hot air. This costume is badass. I mean looking back at when they first showed his costume i think i was already angry at some other thing so after i thought on it this costume is pretty badass.
Thor
Character » Thor appears in 8586 issues.
Thor Odinson is the All-father of Asgard /God of Thunder, offspring of All-Father Odin & Elder-Goddess Gaea. Combining the powers of both realms makes him an elder-god hybrid and a being of no perceivable limits. Armed with his enchanted Uru hammer Mjolnir which helps him to channel his godly energies. The mightiest and the most beloved warrior in all of Asgard, a staunch ally for good and one of the most powerful beings in the multiverse/omniverse. Thor is also a founding member of the Avengers.
Thor god of thunder costume.
Yeah at first glance I can't say I'm a fan. The Sword one is slighty better but I'm not really taken with that ether, still think his current one is the best so far.

No to the swords, yes to the red cape but I'm not feeling the cover art. Thor looks like he's straight out of a Warner Brother's cartoon, I half expect Bugs Bunny to appear over his shoulder in a blonde two braid wig.
They could do the Gene Kelly / Jerry Mouse dance scene though.

Thor should look like this:
I like this, but i would rather his hair be blond, instead of red, and for Mjolnir to be fully rectangular, and noo twisted beard.

@Z3RO180: Well its not two main costumes if the costume shown is from the past. Like I said, the upcoming stories are in the past not present which may explain the more classic costume.
Isn't the first arc taking place in three seperate time periods, Viking Thor, Current Thor and old future King Thor ? That would require 3 costumes for the first arc alone.

Here is a quote from the interview over on Newsarama- here is a link http://www.newsarama.com/comics/thor-god-of-thunder-marvel-now-jason-aaron.html
"This first story is an epic tale that plays out over the course of thousands of years. So we spend time with young Thor in the Viking age — the young, hotheaded god of the Vikings, who loves to come down to Midgard and get into trouble.
In the present, we see Thor the Avenger on a journey that takes him to the far corners of space, interacting with all sorts of new space gods and wondrous new locations.
And then we also see old King Thor, who's the last king of Asgard, thousands of years in the future, where something has gone horribly, horribly wrong.
Linking all these eras and Thors together is one villain, an all-new character, who is basically, at least initially, a serial killer of gods. He's a guy with a serious axe to grind against all immortal beings in the cosmos, and he's going around doing his best to kill them all off, one at a time, as brutally as possible. That villain's story unfolds over the course of all these different eras. He starts as a serial killer of gods, but by the end, he has become something even more frightening."
I like the red so its more in-line with the mythology@Jonny_Anonymous said:

well It looks like he might at least be using them. Here is the solicit.

An all-new direction! All-new threats! All-new weapons! This is Thor NOW!
@Selinaky: I don't! It's too "realistic". I prefer the costumes who look more... "comics" :
The old classic :) :
I liked when he switched with this ones in the Celestial's Saga : That was cool!!! :D
Coipel by Tan : Very nice XD
And even a "Japanime" One... An anime with this Thor : I SAY THEE YES! =P
Well what about the coipel variant thats on the avengers cover? That thing looks to be the worse out of the three new ones floating around.
@ThePhoenX: I'm not a big fan of the new one either. The 'past Thor' looks pretty cool though, like a viking. (my display pic is from that same comic as the GIF you posted haha)
@TheGodofThunder: Have you got a pic of the one you mean?
Besides the classic, this is my favourite Thor outfit design (drawn by Chris Samnee):
