Thor Odinson is the All-father of Asgard /God of Thunder, offspring of All-Father Odin & Elder-Goddess Gaea. Combining the powers of both realms makes him an elder-god hybrid and a being of no perceivable limits. Armed with his enchanted Uru hammer Mjolnir which helps him to channel his godly energies. The mightiest and the most beloved warrior in all of Asgard, a staunch ally for good and one of the most powerful beings in the multiverse/omniverse. Thor is also a founding member of the Avengers.
Where has Hercules been? It would be neat to see a little three-issue story in God of Thunder where Thor, Sif and the Warriors Three have an adventure with the Olympian gods.
@thunderousthor: great! we have some bronze/iron-age and viking age graves here and people built a little vikingvillge for tourists next to the graves, Every year people come to live as vikings there (colour wool, light a fire witouth a zippo etc) but they bring mead which brings me and mates ;)
I believe the first panel is from "The Mighty Thor" #130. Thor had just fought Pluto and all the minions of Hades on Hercules' behalf. This is when Hercules and Thor first became friends on panel if not in continuity.
I believe the second image of panels is from "Hercules: Fall of an Avenger" #1. These panels depict Thor's memories of adventuring with Hercules in ancient times and having a drinking contest against some frost giants. This is when Hercules and Thor became friends in continuity.

Thor is, imo, should be Marvel's most powerful non-abstract hero. Thor should be more powerful (individually) than Dr. Strange, Silver Surfer, Phoenix or anyone else.
Thor is also the best friend and closest rival to my favorite character - Hercules!
@powerherc: I agree to a point. Phonix should is more powerful because in a way that is an abstract ( besides the whole it needs a host thing) and Dr.Strange is earth sorcerer supreme so even though still human he is very much a high tier character and in the same league as thor.

I can understand the arguments for Phoenix and Dr. Strange.
Going back to how Phoenix was before the "Dark Phoenix Saga" before Jean became Dark Phoenix she couldn't access the full power of the Phoenix-Force. I would contend that Thor is should be more powerful than Jean at her normal (non-Dark Phoenix) power level but Dark Phoenix (and/or just the the Phoenix-Force itself) is more powerful than Thor. I think that standard makes sense and should stand.
@powerherc: I agree that since Jean is ''The'' Phoenix host she has full access to its power so she would be basically the pysical manifestion of the Phoenix so there fore more powerful than than but a non experienced host like Hope summer should not be on that level of power.
