Do you think DC should create its own clone of Thor as Marvel has made so many of superman? I used to read every comic that came out with Thor in it but now im wondering if DC might have treated the character with more respect, seeing as how marvel is currently trying to kill Thor.

Thor was partially based off of Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel, so they don't need a clone of him since he already kind of is a clone.

@barqs: DC has their own version of Thor. He resides in the DCU. Wonder Woman has visited Asgard before, talking to DC's Odin, and when getting hit by the angered Hawaiian Goddess Pele, Diana compared her kicks to taking full blows from Thor's hammer.

IIRC he's appeared in other titles as well, albeit playing a minor role. I don't think DC can make their own version of Thor (like literally base if off of Thor from myth) and make him like a big player in the DCU because well Marvel's already done that.. but they already do have Cap and Wondy as pointed out and the fact that Wonder Woman now took over Ares role solidifies that DC might be trying more to make Diana more of a god as well.

On a side note, DC's technically has more of a Greek myth thing. Look at Wonder Woman, Captain Marvel, Aquaman, and the many heroes and villains in the DCU that have alias which reference or are inspired from Greek Myth.

right now I would much rather read a DC version of Thor rather than Marvels, Marvel has at least three copycat superman' s (Gladiator, Sentry, Hyperion, Wonder man, Blue Marvel). Billy batson is defiantly way more superman than thor and wonder woman aside of the greek god heritage is still a girl

Really? Current Marvel Thor is being butched by Aaron, but i thought that his creation was inspired in the Norse Mythology Odin, Loki, Sif, Asgard, the the Bifrost, the nine realms, Surtur, Ragnarok.................................., And ins't the warrior Thor and the Asgardians personality and behavior inspired in the Vikings and the Valhalla concept? Don't get your quote.

I think the myths are open to any publisher's interpretation (Asgardians, Olympians, Egyptians, etc.).

Yes would love to see Dc do Thor justice. Dc seems to more about the hero and keeps him in today. How would Asgard look and his adventures Would he be a member of the JL?

@gp3: When Thor was being created (in the comics), the writers said that creating Thor came about because they wanted a hero to match other popular heroes who at the time were based of Greek gods and culture, but with Nordic gods instead, and so in the process they just ended up making a character directly based on Thor himself.

ok sorry misunderstood your first quote thought you were your saying that Marvel Thor had some characteristics on his world and personality from WW or Shazam.

You are right Shazam and WW are basically the same concept as Marvel Thor, Dc doesn't need another God Superhero, but it would be cool if they did a little provocation to Marvel and made a war between Olympians and Asgardians, like marvel did before there is nothing saying that Dc can't do this event, because no one owns the mythological rights of any God, that is something that some fans don't understand, even if there isn't other Superhero God as popular as Thor right now, his name and myths aren't marvel exclusive like Iron Man Hulk or Cap.
