In the image section, There is a pic of thor battling a phoenix empowered cyclops. Thor is wearing similar armor to when he fought silver surfer in the galactus seed arc. Does anyone know if there is a reason story-wise?

As far as I know we have heard nothing special about this armor

All the Avengers that attacked Utopia were wearing it. I think Iron Man made it.

Have to say, he does look pretty epic, shame about Phoenix Cyclops kicking his ass. :(

@SupahForeigner: I have no problem since its phoenix force cyclops. If it was regular cyclops, I may just stop reading comics altogether.

The armor he used against the Surfer looks like the one against Phoenix force

It was called the "Stellar armor" and was forged by Asgardians or Odin. I guess it helps him against cosmic guys. If its the same armor that is!
