Excuse my ignorance of this as I don't know the specific details of Mjolnir. So I know how it was created and all that, but the powers that it has.

Are they of a magic sort? Like if he calls down Lighting, is it just regular lighting or?(I figure of course the Godblast would be of a magic nature) I know Odin enchanted it, but I'm just trying to clarify if said hammer attacks Thor has are magic based, or they are just...something else.

Is the hammer itself magic, or is it just an indestructible hammer? Like when he swings it at an enemy, does it have anything else behind it other than blunt force?

His hammer is magic his lightning is just lightning I think. Hes the god of thunder he can create weather attacks without the hammer so it should just be lightning

There's no confirmation that Thor's lightning is magic based but it has done things and accomplished feats that an ordinary lightning can't hope to do. The properties that Mjolnir provides including the ability to absorb/amp/redirect, create Anti-vortex, Anti-force, open portals, manipulate cosmic power, transmute matter etc. Are all due to the enchantments Odin placed within the hammer, its striking comes from the the force its swung and its blunt uru material crafted by dwarfs. No magic behind that

@wolfrazer: The godblast has nothing to do with mjolnirs enchantments. The god blast is thor's godly aura. Mjolnir just directs it. Just to clarify.

So if a regular man were to swing mjolnir it would not do any more damage than if he swung a regular hammer? Or is there something more with the impact of mjolnir on something

@jayc1324: Nothing more behind it, a human would be lucky to shatter a house without the power of Thor aiding in its striking

Mjolnir harnesses and directs his own innate elemental abilities, but Odin bestowed some pretty exciting powers to it as well that Thor resorts to every once in a while. I would venture to say that it is a weapon that possesses cosmic-magic along with acting as a siphon for Thor's godly powers.

Mjolnir is infused with Odin Force, and Odin can use it to increase his physical stats, so maybe Thor can too by using his hammer?

No,Uru is not indestructible (I believe). IIRC it shattered when Odinforce Thor fought Bor.

And yes,his hammer has magical properties. That's why it can cause irregular and supernatural weather anomalies to happen at his command....if that makes sense. I don't have scans on me (and I'm almost at my post limit),but I believe he has effected weather on a global scale before.

So no....I don't really think that it's regular lightning, and I am not sure about the hammer. I think that Thor's strength is the only force behind the hammer attacks (that coupled with the fact that the hammer adds to his striking ability). So if Captain America were to use it,I am not sure that it would have the same force behind it as if Thor were using it.......I mainly say Cap because he has lifted the Hammer before.

his hammer is magical and posses power within it. Its both magical and near indestructible. It can be a tool to build or to destroy.

Its basically a magic hammer that THOR controls that can help control weather, fly, destroy, battle and defend.THOR has a base strenght and is very strong with or without his hammer, so when he throws mjolnir depending on the plot and circumstances, its when THOR throws it at full force.
