It shouldn't be too much of a surprise to hear that SHIELD will have a presence in Kenneth Branagh's Thor movie. Variety announced that Clark Gregg will reprise his role as Agent Coulson (last seen in Iron Man). Even though Coulson isn't an actual comic book character, his appearance in Thor will further solidify the cohesiveness of the movie Marvel Universe. We have already seen crossovers in the Iron Man and Incredible Hulk movies. All of this will be leading to the Avengers movie in 2012. Agent Coulson will also be appearing in Iron Man 2.
Digital Spy also pointed out some recent comments that Branagh made in regards to Thor.
Reports are mixed regarding the amount of screen time Midgard will receive. I was under the impression that the majority of the movie would take place in Asgard and would end with Thor meeting Nick Fury and the others on earth. Yet more-and-more it's looking like perhaps we'll be seeing more action on Midgard. Natalie Portman is playing Jane Foster and Kat Dennings is playing a friend of Foster's named Darcy, which leads me to believe earth (aka Midgard) will have major screen time.
