So out of the two new costumes ffor thor whiitch one do you prefer? The movieish version one or the Updated current one? For me its the one with the swords cause out of the two its the best and thats the on they need to stay with.
Thor
Character » Thor appears in 8593 issues.
Thor Odinson is the All-father of Asgard /God of Thunder, offspring of All-Father Odin & Elder-Goddess Gaea. Combining the powers of both realms makes him an elder-god hybrid and a being of no perceivable limits. Armed with his enchanted Uru hammer Mjolnir which helps him to channel his godly energies. The mightiest and the most beloved warrior in all of Asgard, a staunch ally for good and one of the most powerful beings in the multiverse/omniverse. Thor is also a founding member of the Avengers.
New Thor Costume
i think a better question is, whats wrong with his current one?
That one is better than both of the new ones by far. the sword one is pointless. the other one is okay but its nothing spectacular, also the fact that he has a "T" on his belt kinda ruins it for me. and dont even get me started on the spiked wrist band.
@Z3RO180:
the first one has some potential, remove the swords, take that dumb "T" off his belt and i would think it would look okay at best.
i just hope they leave the costumes alone in their solo series. Heck, you would even know that AvX was going on reading everyone's solo series.
@Z3RO180: Yep. i read mighty thor and captain america. their both just off doing their own thing.
@Izaiah: i dont know, i just dont like letters on costumes, except for daredevil.

Thor should look like this, but with the swords of the current one, that would be badass

This is the best. But I think he will wear it again.
The sword /no cape thing is absurd, the movie version was bad tooo, but not awful, due to the fact that they mixed in elements of his current suit. Speaking of which his current suit excellent and doesn't need to be tampered with. Thor is known for using his hammer, only in special cercumstances should he wield a sword, but he should never carry them at all, that pic above looks like a blonde Conan. Marvel needs to start cleaning house about now before( Those Who Sit Above) ruin everything!
@Z3RO180: Why don't you just give Conan blonde hair and you will have what you want, Thor is cool just the way he is currently!
Of the two I prefer the no-cape/swords version, though I agree his current costume is the best one he has worn. It is funny though because when the costume came out, most people complained about it and now people are defending it. The T however, needs to go, as in Norse runic laguage, "T" actually stands for Tyr, not Thor. And as I have said on another forum, the helmet looks more Greek than Norse or Germanic. They should adjust it as well.
The two swords look has potential and possibilities but at the same time, it sort of worries me. I like the fact that, perhaps, with the swords he has just a little more flexibility in his arsonal. Tales of Asgard shows him as a youth using swords and being pretty damn good at it. And mythology has Thor using axes and even a staff on some occasions. Thor even said himself in one of his comics that he has come to rely on Mjolnir too much so him opting to try something else could, if done right, expand his character some and finally end the idea that Thor can't fight.
On the other hand, Marvel likes to add things like that just before they weaken a character considerably, and Thor once again in the same team as the Hulk has me worried that, as per the standard at Marvel, Thor must weaken when in the presence of the Hulk. They did the same thing to Warpath when he joined the X-Men: gave him some cool knives and then weakened him significantly so that he is not even on par with Strong Guy anymore. So this has me concerned that we are about to see Thor lose some of his already established abilities.
As for the no-cape, its not a bad move, though he should wear it when he is not expecting battle, as not only is it a symbol of his status, but also because it is a classic element that we have come to expect of the character. However, him removing the cape for combat would be realistic. Even the ancient Spartans, known for their capes saying that the color was so that no enemy would see Spartan Blood, never actually wore them in combat, but removed them just prior.
I like the updated on, but agree that Mjolnir should have more runes on it. Also, I'd like to see one sword and maybe a spear - too many characters have two swords, and he doesn't even really need weapons besides Mjolnir anyway.
I don't think he needs the cape, and I liked how his Ultimate costume looked. If he were to wear a cape, I'd prefer it to be shorter, and look like a fur mantle:

@spiderman20991992: Agreed the current one is awesome and nouthing is wrong with it and also agreed with swords being pouintless since he has mjolnir. But out of the two the ''updated'' one is the best sice the movie one looks terrible
I know.
It's like having the Infinity Gauntlet but feeling the need to carry swords.
