This is the cover of the very first issue of Thor I read, Thor #3. It was in that issue that I got my first exposure to Thor and Coipel depicted him wonderfully. The JMS/Coipel series is my favourite Thor series so for me, Coipel is the definitive Thor artist.

I've really been enjoying Ribic in God of Thunder. My be my favorite portrayal of all time.

@04nbod: I loved those books lol. Good, easy read stories.

anywho:

Coipel really shows how huge Thor is. He's a god after all. He's larger than life.

Coipel is the best IMO. But Quesada is also pretty good.

#17 Posted by ThePhoenX (119 posts) - - Show Bio

With no order :

- Rich Elson

- Olivier Coipel

- Billy Tan

- Andrea Divito

- Stuart Immonen

#18 Posted by Fernando072295REBORN (502 posts) - - Show Bio

@ThePhoenX: oh yeah forgot about Elson. He draws a pretty good Thor also.

Thor

Marko Djurdjevic, can't find his interiors, but they are pretty spectacular as well. I even prefer him to Coipel, since I found both could give Thor size, power and nobility, but Djurdjevic's Thor was a bit darker and stoic to me, which I really liked.

I have problems with how he draws long hair and some facial expressions. But then I have yet to read Thor GOT 19 so maybe that all changes. Overall on the grand backgrounds and epic action front, Ribic is awesome, that much I do agree with you on mate.

@sog7dc: I wasn't a fan of Fraction's writing on that story but I cannot deny the art wasn't gorgeous there. When'd you read it?

It must have been about 3 or 4 months ago. I can't actually believe Patrick hasn't drawn Thor more often. I love his depiction.

The guy that drew this...

After the King, I would say JRJR:

Ron Frenz is also overlooked. He drew a great Thor. I liked the initial "Celestials" story with DeFalco but wasn't a huge fan of the Masterson era.
