What is your favorite Thor memory?

I just came across THIS gem in my Thor collection and had to share this.

This is my fave scan in any comic.

All of them....

@TheCannon: Well, your comment is not wrong.

#5 Posted by TheCannon (18918 posts) - - Show Bio

@Pyrogram: Legitimately, there's too many awesome ones for me to decide. I loved Thor fighting Silver Surfer in What if volume 2 #41. That was the moment that made me love Thor, though it's non canon.

@Pyrogram: And Steve Rogers is still worthy.

I was looking through my old collection trying to find Beta ray bill before I was told, and was clicking loads, clicked on Thor issue 390 and wam. Found it, was described to me by my uncle like a year ago, so happy to read it myself.

@fodigg: yes

@Pyrogram: I'll read it sometime.

I hate those team pictures. Gives me more reason to dislike Captain America.

This is my favorite Thor memory. It's the moment that defined/defines Thor for me:

This truly epic Thor battle happened in "Thor" #300. It's as good as or better than anything seen in comics today.

Long Live Thor!!!!

@PowerHerc: truly amazing

#18 Posted by PowerHerc (84386 posts) - - Show Bio

@Pyrogram:

It was truly amazing.

Of course that was back in an era before the whole Marvel Universe had to be swept up into every cosmically-epic story for the sake of promoting a yearly "cross-over event." That was when each title was allowed to pursue it's own destiny.

That's when Thor clearly was and was clearly shown to be Marvel's most powerful superhero. Time after time. Again and again.

@PowerHerc: yes his battles with the celestials all epic... shame marvel has changed to hat it is now

I neglected to comment earlier, so here's my take on this panel:

It's awesome! I love it!

This was when Steve Rogers had chose to become "The Captain" rather than continue being an American Government puppet-Captain America.

I had this comic and, even though I would've preferred Steve to be Captain America, I really liked the fact that he was shown to be worthy of Mjolnir. I also remember this as being the first time that Thor and Cap were shown to be close friends rather just teammates. In the comics I'd read (which had come out over the course of the previous twenty years) I had only seen Iron Man shown to be Thor's non-immortal/godly friend.

Great stuff right? Love the relationship these two have had over the decades. I'm hoping they will show elements of that friendship in the next Avengers movie.
