But I do not think that is such a bad thing. At least for the movies. What I am hoping to see in the Avengers movie is a throw down between Thor and Hulk. I would LOVE to see that on the big screen.

Yes. The movie versions have all been weaker or less skilled than their comic counterparts.

Exactly. You want to leave room for him to grow in power and as a character.

Yeah he undoubtedly will be weaker in the movie. I just hope he isn't significantly weaker though, or displayed as having difficulty lifting something or performing some feat he would have extreme ease of doing in the comics. I hope we do get to see him show a few impressive feats of strength and wield a lot of power/magic/lightning across the screen.

I'm just a little worried that Thor will be shown struggling or a lot weaker than he should be. I doubt this will be the case, as I think Branagh really knows and loves the character, so I think they will do him enough justice power wise. But as a fan, I'm allowed to worry.

Idk, it's just a really important part to his character. But as gambit and Irish said, I'm sure we will see his power level grow across the inevitable Thor franchise.

    Probably.
It would be pretty hard to have him demonstrate the level of power in a 2 to 3 hour movie that he has in nearly 50 years of comics, so I say comic Thor will be more powerful.

His level of power will probably be similar to that of the early Journey into Mystery issues, which actually makes sense.

Well, 3 Avengers movies are set to made in the future, and undoubtably more than 1 Thor films. He definitely has room to grow.

I believe he will be more powerful. Since he will be able to break down the fourth wall much easier and destroy his most powerful enemies though glorious and savage page ripping.

Probably less powerful, but he will probably get more powerful down the line. I swear to god, though, if they have Hulk knock him out when they fight (and you KNOW they're gonna fight), I'm gonna be pissed.

Thor will obviously be weaker in the movie than in comics because in real world laws of physics are much different
All the characters are too overpowered anyway
I prefer to see a bad ass Thor doing powerful stuff that is within the realms of sanity, not smashing planets and stuff
Destroying planets should be left to Galactus and above
Over the years everyones powers have escalated to stupid levels

By leaps and bounds, but thats fine.

That would be like having a Superman film without having Clark in flight(or 9 or so seasons of Smallville =P).
He might spend most of the time to the ground(Which comic book Thor does plenty in his own book while fighting) he's going to at least be using flight probably for some of the bigger scenes involving giant lazers.

Don't know about that, people often insist Thor has nothing for hand to hand skill, this guy is apparently good enough to take on some of the most well trained individuals on the planet with just his hands.
