Do you guys like Chris Hemsworth as Thor? While we're on the topic, Scarlett as Natasha? and Evans as Capt. America?
Thor
Character » Thor appears in 8599 issues.
Thor Odinson is the All-father of Asgard /God of Thunder, offspring of All-Father Odin & Elder-Goddess Gaea. Combining the powers of both realms makes him an elder-god hybrid and a being of no perceivable limits. Armed with his enchanted Uru hammer Mjolnir which helps him to channel his godly energies. The mightiest and the most beloved warrior in all of Asgard, a staunch ally for good and one of the most powerful beings in the multiverse/omniverse. Thor is also a founding member of the Avengers.
Chris Hemsworth as Thor?
Chris is Thor In my opinion. Actually I had no problem with the portrayal of any of the Characters. They are only loosely based on the characters we love anyway.
Chris Hemsworth is an incredible Thor, and Chris Evans is an exemplary Captain America!
And RDJ is a fantastic Tony Stark. One thing I can say about Marvel Studios, they know how to cast their movies.
I think he's the best Thor you can get. He's tall, looks like Thor, and has the voice. What more can you ask? I just wish he could use the helmet like Thor. It could be the metal one and not the feathery one too, like in Marvel NOW. Aesthetically it feels wrong for him to not where the helmet but that's besides the point.
I preferred Chris Evans playing Human Torch/Johnny Storm than as Captain America. I don't find him manly enough basically for Captain America. Of course it's just my own perception of the character, but I see him as older, more mature and basically more "manly". I think Chris was perfect for the FF movies though as Johnny Storm.
As for Chris Hemsworth, it's hard to say - there's really nothing to compare him to and for a lot of people he is their introduction to Thor, so it makes sense he would be viewed as Thor. However again... As much as I like him there's something for me that isn't quite right but I am still happy to watch him as the Character.
RDJ on the other hand does a great job as RDJ.. I mean Tony Stark...

@the_stegman: I think the
Marvel
Films are part of the reason I hate ironman. Because I much prefer RDJ as Sherlock

Indeed!

I'd have to agree. He's a good Cap, but generally I view Cap as a dad-like figure**, more "mature" & Chris comes off as a typical young guy. (I have no idea how old Cap was supposed to be when he was transformed, or how he aged after that, but he just seems more "adult" that how Chris comes off in the movies).
**Like, I couldn't picture him giving Cap's famous speech from Civil War (That legend who makes even experienced superheros turn into awe-struck babes ). (I get a more cheesy war-propaganda vibe that fits in with his solo-movie, but feels a bit out of place in the modern setting of Avengers).
Chris Evan's Cap is still evolving into the Captain America we all know, and is still kind of naïve/inexperienced. So I'm fine with him not completely being the opposing, dad like figure comic Captain America is.
Chris is amazing as Thor but he's not exactly portrayed as accurate as he is in the comics. I don't care though, casting Thor could have gone downhill 80% more than if it was done right and it just happened to have been done right.
I think the casting process was definitely overlooked by fans... Thor as a character is arguably as hard as casting the new Batman - I'm not talking popularity, but just in terms of how difficult it is to find the right actor.
Chris Hemsworth is popular for playing a superhero in big budget films but he's definitely underrated as an actor playing a superhero role CORRECTLY. He's one of my top 5 castings in CBM's:
1. Christopher Reeve
2. Robert Downey Jr.
3. Hugh Jackman
4. Christian Bale
5. Chris Hemsworth

RDJ as Tony Stark actually made me like the character, I find him boring in the comics.

Hemsworth is good
Evans is okay. Cap is someone I consider to be more mature, is masculine, and easily commands respect.
Not a fan of Scarjo as BW

touche, salesman
Hemsworth and Evans are fantastic in their roles.
Scarlett Johansson probably isn't the best actress to portray Black Widow, but I still like her in the role, for what it is.
I enjoyed all the actors that portrayed the characters. I thought they all did awesome.
Every time I see Chris Hemsworth, I think of Thor.
Same here.

Yes. just needs to wear his god damn helmet.
No, for blackwidow. I miss her accent. and they only care how scarlet looks. instead of making the character more badass. blackwidow seems more like a sissy.
he's good. but i wish captain america would have a deeper tone of voice. evans could play a good hal jordan don't you think?
I have no idea who could complain about this as being Thor.
The way I look at at it is he's better than the dork that plays Batman. I like Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow and Chris Evans as Captain America, I mean would you make someone else Iron Man other than Robert Downey Jr. ?
He's an aussie. Therefore, it is essentially my duty as a fellow aussie to approve the shit out of him being Thor. Every time i read a Thor comic now, i always imagine Hemsworths' voice in my head.
!
As Thor, Hemsworth is better than I could've ever hoped for.
May he be Thor in every Marvel movie!
Yeah he's pretty good.
