Now this isn't a battle. I just have a question regarding the battle. Why couldn't Thor simply put Mjolnir on Superman's chest? Superman couldn't lift it. He could just put it on supes' chest and kick him while Supes is down. Someone please explain why Thor couldn't do this?

How exactly is he going to get Superman into a situation where Superman is laying down and not moving long enough for Thor to place a hammer on him?

Moreover...has he EVER done that to ANYONE? Thor's go-to tactic is to brawl it out with the bad guy.

Are we talking about movie or comic versions? It's not in Thor's character anyway; and even if it were, Superman is too fast for Thor to simply place the hammer on him.

    1. The fight presumably doesnt start with Superman sleeping on the street like a hobo so Thor can place Mjolnir on him.
    2. It doesnt necessarily work like that in the comics. Thor dropped the hammer on Rulks hands and he was easily able to move them out of the way saying "its just dirt". The hammer has also fallen on Hulk's hand before who was presumably able to remove it also. Its quite possible that the enchantment is only activated when you actually try to wield it/lift it - if you were just to roll over and let it fall off you without trying to pick it up it might not be unmovable (though theres not a lot to say either way).

It doesn't matter if its in character guys, thats not the point of this lol. And whats to say superman wouldnt try tanking the hit thinking its just a hammer, getting knocked back, and then trapped? INSTEAD of trying to look at this as a battle, just answer his question. and in the question, i do think he could do that.

Well it would certainly hold him in place. Mjolnir once fell on Hyperion's chest and it began to suffocate him because his chest couldn't rise due to the worthy enchantment. The only thing is Superman could easily bust the ground beneath him and then swerve out from under the hammer. Or vibrate through the floor and come out.

Because that trick wouldn't last for maybe more than 1-2 seconds.

Yes is the answer ,Thor could pin Superman to the ground, Like he's done to others or others have had it done to them by accident(like Hyperion, that was hilarious). Now in a Battle That would lead to endless debate back & forth, Thor rarely employs this tactic, It did just happen in God of Thunder 15 to a Dark Elf warrior driven to the ground by Mjolnir then becoming pinned underneath it, as Thor battled another dark elf & didn't summon the Hammer to return, But that seemed more accidental . Once again could it happen Yes ,"But" in battle vs. superman it would be hard to pull off. As far as The The Hulk (green/original) The times the Hammer fell on his hands it had to Be lifted by off or summoned back By the original Thor & once when Hulk fought "Red" Norvell Thor in Asgard Norvell's Hammer(Crusher) fell so hard it broke the Hulks Hand ,then Norvell removed It. The Red Hulk story ,well that's full of craziness , I would guess since anytime before or since(the Red Hulk story) The weight of The Hammer/Enchantment made someone under it immobilized like being crushed by a car(for normal people) Thor does remain in contact w/Mjolnir so I guess its full effects are not in Play, because pushing the dirt aside is silly, The Hammer barring down would simply continue ,But as I said The Red Hulk Story the rules wear Bent to push his character

Now , Thor has never put the boots to a helpless opponent, as stated by other there's no Honor in it , that act would border on becoming unworthy. We are talking about a Warrior god

To get the mjolnir onto Superman's chest first he has to put him on his back and that wont happen easily. See this weeks Superman/Wonder woman to see how Superman fares against some Gods!! But this isn't a battle so basically yes he could theoretically pin superman to the deck, but it wont happen.
