Adam is a cosmic being with enhanced strength and natural abilities as well as cosmic awareness and both energy and matter manipulation. Because he was created to be exploited, over time he escaped into space. Adam was found by the Watcher who sent him to Earth. This was the first encounter he had with humans. He tried to take the Goddess Sif as his first mate, but this enraged Thor and Adam had to create a cocoon around himself to escape. Adam later battled with the Thanos over the Infinity Guantlet. This was a saga that was drawn out before Thanos erased half of the Universe's population. It took Adam and Earths heroes to defeat Thanos and strip him of the Guantlet gems. Nebula was the one who erase everything that Thanos did. Adam later retrieved the Guantlet and divided the gems amongst his trusted companions and named the group the Infinity Watch. Adam has fought alongside the Avengers, Fantastic Four, Hulk, and many other superheroes against enemies both cosmic and domestic. On Earth Adam is known to be a hero even though he has assisted Thanos. Thor once nearly killed Him for abducting Sif in order to mate with her. When Him returned, in Thor [Vol 1] #165 - 166, he attempted to capture Lady Sif to serve as his consort, but the hero Thor battled Him until he freed Sif, nearly killing Him.
