    Terrific!'Nuff Said

The origin of Beta Ray Bill! Surtur and the Twilight Sword! Donald Blake's final adventures? The Brave Balder no more? Loki and his mischiefous friend the Dark Elf Malakith! Lorelei and her crush on Thor! These are just sample of terrific elements and themes aproached by Walter Simonson, whose legacy on Thor is felt upon this days, like Jurgens using Malakith again, Bendis using Fafnir in the mini Avengers: Prime, not to mention Beta Ray Bill himself, perhaps the most important character sprung from his run - Simonson's narrative is dated, there's that clear 80s trademark on it, but that doesn't mean it's tainted or boring, not at all, sure there're some abuse of captions and lines on which the character says exactly what he's doing, but that don't remove the brilliant plot and story, the characters development and the action that Simonson plunge us at the book - sometimes his art doesn't match the writing, especially in the Balder's scenes, but I really like his style - there're true gems here in this trade, for instance Thor bumping into Clark Kent, Nick Fury helping the Odinson and Thor's romance with Melodi! I recommend this for all Thor's fans and also for those who want to know more about his early days! This is a very interesting and respectful moment of the character!
