    Vikings Steal Thor`s Thunder...

...not literally, but meaning this issue is all about the villains of the piece - Harald Jaekelsson and his crew. I really enjoyed this historical/horror/superhero mini-series, and this opener reveals the origins of how our resident God of Thunder comes to tackle a ship full of undead Norsemen...
11th Century Norway, and a horde of rogue Vikings, led by Harald Jaekelsson are putting a village to flame and sword. They are cursed by the village elder, before they finish him off with an arrow through the throat. The cursed crew then take on an endless voyage, sailing through the ages to arrive in modern day New York. The crew, now supernatural undead beings, set about doing what Vikings do - and the heads start rolling, quite literally, as Harald and his men storm the harbour...

     Heeeere`s Harald!
     Heeeere`s Harald!

As I said, I really enjoyed this, very well written, gritty dialogue as the ages-old Norsemen meet the unsuspecting New Yorkers, and filled with sudden, brutal violence. Fabry`s art is likable, particularly the start in Viking Norway...
Oh, and Thor? He doesn`t even show up until the very end - and boy, is he in for a surprise...but I`m getting ahead of myself...
Endless Ocean?, good stuff. Do yourself a favour and look it up...
