i've Been a fan of Jason Aaron's Thor Run, it's very consistent and quite frankly very good. His First arc was a great Success, easily Balancing the Dark tone, seriousness and the epic action. I'm very Glad that Jason Aaron decided to take one issue to Explore Thor's Character rather then Jumping on to the next big arc. That way we can take a break from all the threats and easily await what is to come.
The Art is a Nice Change. It's Not really breathtaking or anything like that but you can see that the artist does a good job and puts his heart into it. This is less focused more on the Epic action and more on the peaceful state of Earth, or midgard.
But that's not the best thing about this issue. Jason Aaron Successfully integrates and evolves thor's relationship with Humans. I really loved this. thor is a God who can move mountains, summon thunder at any given moment, yet he still cares for the creatures that are weaker then him. He's a Gentle Giant(as the title Implies), he's learned that Despite the fact that some humans are physically weak, their spirit is strong. And it was this HIDDEN strength which ended up changing thor into the Hero he is today. It' feels almost as if thor is afraid of loosing this Compassion, which is why he always comes back to midgard. moreover, i really like the Banter between thor and Jane foster, it's fun to read it and it's also very interesting.
Now despite this being a very good issue i do have a complaint. While i am Happy that Thor set everything straight with Jane Foster( i personally want Thor/sif to Happen), there is something that makes absolutely zero sense here.SPOILERS. Jane Foster has Cancer, Thor suggest that he can Help. Why would Jane Decline his offer? i understand that she doesn't want to trouble him for something that might not work but still. Also Thor clearly thinks that He can HELP, so why would he not? i understand he is trying to respect her wishes but Thor clearly cares for her so i find it a little hard to believe that he wouldn't have at least tried.
That's My main Problem here, other than that, i really enjoyed this issue. Hope Jason Keeps up the good work.
