hydrabob--defunct's Thor: First Thunder #1 - The Coming Storm review

    Thor born again

This is really just a retelling of Thor's origin, but for someone that hasn't read it yet, I thought it was a very good issue. The writer (Bryan Glass) did a very good job of portraying Thor and Donald Blake, though Loki seemed like every other arch nemesis in this, the issue covers a lot, some similarities between Thor and Donald Blake, that someone who hasn't read the original first appearance of Thor (myself) wouldn't know about. The art is good not the best i have ever seen, but it is good, and does not bring away from the story at all. I thought it was a great issue, seemed like a different Thor, then i've seen in other issues but not in a bad way. I also enjoyed that they put the first appearance of Thor in the back, I thought it was a nice touch. All in all i give this a 4 it was good going on great, but it is pretty obvious that Bryan Glass is holding back in what he wants to show of Thor and Donald Blake, and I can't wait to read the next one.
