A tale about Asgard, Yggdrasil, Aliens and Soup
The world of Thor has some constants: his father Odin, his brother Loki, the World Tree Yggdrasil, his value friends (and brother) Balder, Vollstagg and Heimdall and, of course, Asgard and Ragnarok. And since Asgard was removed to Earth (to the city of Broxton) the balance of things has shattered. This is the foundation of the story: Asgard should´t be on Earth, because something will take it´s place where it should be. And this something is aliens invasion. A whole fleet leaded by a vicious and crazy dictator, named Thoth, who´s coming to annihilate Earth. This issue has lacked for the great dialogues between Volstagg and Eric (a scientist) that happened in the previous issue but has got the appealing of great and unique art by Pasqual Ferry: this dude is amazing (his art isn´t classic and realistic yet it´s not cartoonish enough, it´s something in between - and the man has great taste in clothing, scenarios and faces). Hollingsworth colors are something too. Fraction is laying the story very slowly, what I don´t like very much, intercalating the aliens and the Asgadians, and to be honest the whole "I miss Loki, I´m going to bring him back" is a old and boring formula (come one, he has betrayed his kingsmen and his kind to Dr. Doom and helped in the Siege and Fall of Asgard, what else he´s got to do?). Overall this is an interesting issue, more graphically speaking than the narrative and dialogue aspects, but I guess (and hope) that in the end it will be worth.
