Alicia Masters is a blind sculptress who is able to create lifelike sculptures of people by touch and memory. Alicia has been a close friend and romantic interest of Fantastic Four member Ben Grimm, a.k.a., the Thing. The attraction between these two began immediately upon their first meeting and despite the Thing's mutated appearance and Alicia's lack of sight, the two quickly became an item, falling in love. Their love met many obastacles over the ensueing years including public perception, threats from enemies of the Fantastic Four (including Alicia's own step-father Phillip Masters, a.k.a., the Puppet Master) and many others. Perhaps the biggest challenge/obstacle they faced was Ben's own deep-seated insecurity over his physical appearance andhis worthiness of Alicia because of it. Ben and Alicia dated off and on for many years, usually splitting-up when Ben became to worried about her safety or to insecure about whether Alicia really wanted him or not. Once, it even seemed like he'd lost Alicia forever to his close friend and teammate, Johnny Storm (the Human Torch) when Alicia and Johnny fell in love and were married. Fortunately for Ben, it was actually a shape-shifting Skrull impersonating Alicia whom Johnny had married. The real Alicia had been abducted by the Skrulls and replaced by Skrull agent Lyja Lazerfist. The true Alicia was rescued by the Fantastic Four, but it took several years before Ben and her were able to even begin to renew their relationship.

During the fight, Klaw used his sonic blaster on the two brothers which caused the brothers to develop enhanced strength, endurance and senses. Klaw left with his crew, including Ward, to the Savage Land. Jason followed Klaw, and there he met Ka-Zar, the Thing, and Wyatt Wingfoot. The four joined forces and defeated Klaw and his minions.
Amy Brys was a young woman who had a brief relationship with Johnny Storm (Human Torch) of the Fantastic Four and became pregnant with his child. She elected to disappear into the timestream in order to protect the child from the FF's numerous enemies.
