The Thing (in my eyes) has always been presented as dim witted hero with street level intelligence. Yet he graduated college and attended the air force. Therefor he's no dummy. Just wondering????

probably about average intellect....but you figure he's been hanging with Reed all of these years he's probably picked up something along the way

He comes off not sounding as smart as he really is and it's probably due to his New York tough-guy accent and speech pattern. He's above average, at least a little bit.
