While on a cruise to Europe, Cyclops is contacted by the Professor and informs him that he found Lucifer. Professor X tells Cyclops that was Lucifer who broke his legs in the past, and warns that Lucifer must never menace Earth again. Professor is on Lucifer’s trail and after avoiding a trap, is caught by the villain. Xavier shoots at Lucifer but is warned that if he is harmed, Earth will be doomed.

Elsewhere, the Avengers seem to be in search for some kind of disruption, some great evil that attracts Thor's hammer. Lucifer launches a thermal-bomb that will explode if he is killed. The Avengers follow the disruption and it leads to the X-Men. The two super hero teams battle; The Avengers want to destroy Lucifer and the X-Men know he must not be harmed. The Professor uses his telepathy to put Lucifer unconscious. Professor X then tells Thor that Lucifer is not a threat anymore and the two team stop their battle. Professor X then gathers his X-Men and they disable the bomb. Professor lets Lucifer go.

This is the first time the Avengers and the X-Men are put together.

The X-Men play Pattycake with the Avengers 0

I know I should save this for the end, but I'm seriously confused. The X-Men stop the villain, "Lucifer", from detonating a bomb that would devastate the earth, and then they just let him go. SERIOUSLY!?! He almost ended life on the planet, but he gets a slap on the wrist? What the fuck? No, it's ok... you apparently caused Professor X's crippled condition almost killed millions of not billions of people, but you can walk away. Dumb.Homo-sapien: 0Homo-superior: 0The only good thing about this bo...

Avengers vs. X-Men - why it sucked 0

The issue opens in the North Atlantic where "A dangerous iceberg suddenly drifts into the path of a speeding super-liner", "But then, seconds before the fatal impact, a blinding, shattering, mysterious twin-beam shoots out, blasting the mighty iceberg into harmless fragments!!"; yes, you guessed it, the X-Men are aboard the ocean liner, and Cyclops has pulverized this quick-moving ice mountain with his eye beams.Fortunately, nobody saw this, and as he (dressed as Scott Summers) collapses on deck...

Lucifer the underwhelming 0

Over at the letter pages of the X-Men, readers are increasingly complaining that the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants has been overused. Stan has promised readers a new villain to rival the likes of Dr. Doom. Well, Lucifer is introduced this issue and doesn't really match the hype.   The issue has a promising start. A speeding super-liner is about to collide with an iceberg in the fog-filled waters of the North Atlantic. A Titanic-like scenario. Then twin energy beams strike the iceberg and smash to ...
