    The X-Men train their powers. Angel is watching TV and sees a man and a saber-tooth attack a reach team in Antarctica. Professor X sends the X-Men on a mission to investigate what is going on in Antarctica. When they reach the Antarctica, they find a hidden land filled with dinosaurs. A group of natives attack the X-Men and capture Marvel Girl. The wild man and the saber-tooth scare off the natives. He tells the X Men his name is Ka-Zar and his tiger Zabu. A man from the Man-Ape tribe attacks Ka-Zar but is defeated. Ka-Zar tells the X-Men that the Swamp-Men captured Marvel Girl and that they are his enemies so he will help the X-Men. Angel flies off from the X-Men to get a view of the land but is also captured by the Swamp-Men. The Swamp-Men are going to use the two X-Men as sacrifices. With the help of Ka-Zar and Zabu, the X-Men defeat the Swamp-Men and rescue Angel and Marvel Girl.

    The first appearence of Ka-Zar and Zabu, and also of the Savage Land in Antarctica.

    A new incarnation of Ka-Zar 0

    The reason most people remember this issue is because it is the first appearance of Ka-Zar. Or at least this incarnation of him. The original Ka-Zar was one of the various characters introduced in the pulp magazines of Martin Goodman. He appeared in three issues, dated between 1936 and 1937. When Goodman went on to establish Marvel Comics in 1939, Ka-Zar was adapted in comic books.     Lots of Little Bad Adds Up To a Lot of Bad 0

    When the X-Men see an Antarctic exploration team attacked by a half naked savage and a saber toothed tiger, Professor X agrees to let the X-Men go investigate. Thus we have the introduction of the Savage Land and Ka-Zar to Marvel Comics.Obviously those are giant carnivorous birds - just look at them! I mean why would anyone bother to domesticate giant birds for riding if they weren't carnivorous?     Antactica is Full of Racism 0

    So today we introduce Ka-Zar, Lord of the Jungle, and his pet/brother, the sabertooth tiger, Zabu. Long story, skip over the first 6-8 pages, short... the X-Men haven't been in a battle in a while and are getting antsy, so after seeing a TV broadcast, decided to investigate Antarctica.They magically find the hidden entrance to the Savage Land, and immediately get attacked by wild, prehistoric, animals . So ridiculous... so Ka-Zar just so happens to hear them getting attacked and comes to the res...
