Alice is Batwoman's long-lost identical older twin sister, Elizabeth Kane. Believing herself to be the Alice of Lewis Carroll's famous story, she became the High Madame of the Religion of Crime. Later, after rehabilitation by the DEO and her sister as well as her father, Alice reformed and became a hero and ally to her sister.
Jane Doe is a cipher who obsessively learns her victims' personality and mannerisms, then kills them and assumes their identity by wearing their skin, eventually becoming that individual even in her own mind.

One of Batman's most recurrent enemies, Jervis Tetch (A.K.A. The Mad Hatter) is obsessed with Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland, basing all of his crimes on the novel. Jervis is often depicted as a joke-villain but is a serious threat to Batman with his powerful mind-control technology.
The second Mad Hatter was another man obsessed with hats. He called himself "Jervis Tetch" and began committing crimes to stealing unusual hats for his collection, but then he began several of his attempts to steal Batman's cowl.
