Fan-theories can range from either "insane" to "insanely plausible," and they exist everywhere on the Internet for any type of medium. Luckily, this is a comic book site, so there's no need to debate the moon landing. One theory that keeps popping up deals with the comic and the television series "The Walking Dead." A couple years back, a user on Comic Vine posed the question "What if Rick Grimes is still in his coma?" The user pondered on the idea that "Rick Grimes never woke up from the coma and he's in deep sleep.He's imagining all this,he dreamt of the zombies and none of it really happen.He only dreamed of zombies because he loved reading stories about them."

This theory is happening all over the net, and after an Uproxx article went up about this, WALKING DEAD writer Robert Kirkman got on Twitter and put the theories to rest.

Well, that puts that to rest, but Kirkman also tweeted something else to get fans questioning the series, once again. Obviously, he's joking... or is he?

Begin writing your theories about Rick Grimes and discuss whether or not he's completely crazy, or you can call him on his phone and ask, which has a direct link to his dead wife.

Did anyone see the article a while back about how The Walking Dead doesn't make sense mathematically. I think they took an assumption that there were so many groups like Rick's across the nation, and if so, all the walkers would have been killed within a year or so. It's kinda a funny article.

I think Robert is joking. There's no way that Rick is imagining his family. If he were still in a coma, he would have imagined them. How else he survived against the zombies alone?

Wow! That really got me thinking if it is actually possible for Rick to be all alone and to be that f**ked up. I really want to find out the truth about everything.

I think dismissing this was the wrong thing to do. When it comes to fiction conspiracy theories are fun things to speculate on and have fun with, even if they are crazy and totally wrong it's always fun to think "but what if...".

Not that TWD needs one, but I think the rest of the cast being imaginary characters would be an interesting twist. The still in a coma thing is just nonsense though, it would stain the entire franchise as has happened in the past to things with unsatisfying endings. I can only imagine the fans who were speculating on that we being just as jokey as Kirkman is here, but it just not funny. I guess it doesn't effect my life in anyway, I'll let people have their fun.

A good twist would be that America is the only country like this. They've never talked about what happened in any other countries.

Imagine if an other country, or all of them, grew tried of America's shit and decided to infect the country with some sort of virus.
