Why isn't walking dead colored?

It sets the tone of the book better by not having it colored...I would have really liked to have seen the black and white version of the first episode of the tv show that was supposed to be on the first season dvd set but for some reason didn't make it

It's all about aesthetics. Interestingly enough, Frank Darabont, the man behind the TV series also directed a film called The Mist. Darabont wanted to do it in black and white but the studio said no. The DVD has the black and white version included. See the link below if you are interested...

I hear that White and Black is really good for the series but I do wish they can come out with some trades for previous issues to be in color. I think that could be cool to see. I know I would buy it.

I thought it wasn't colored because they'll be able to finish faster making comics. I guess the others post are right though

Because writing before art and it looks better without colors.

Without color, the comic is just so much better. Kirkman is so great, he doesn't need colors to tell his story.
