man that was great! so glad I didn't watch the bootleg copy that was floating around and stuck it out and waited for the premiere....I really can't wait for next week
I know that they said they were going to have some surprises for the people who have read the comic so that they don't know what's going to happen every week but I imagine that it's not going to stray to far from the comic's storyline and I think what I'm going to enjoy most is seeing how surprised everyone is at some of the things that happen
" wow...why is he in the city? "because it's the best worst place to go ever!
he's feelin cozy though.
" wow...why is he in the city? "Looking for help, he wasn't aware the city was crawling with zombies
I'm guessing he's just suffering from a near fatal case of PIS. It's very contagious" @Emperor Gonzo Noir: Cities are always full of zombies "
now that I'm rewatching the show...there is one thing that's bothering me.....they flat out told us that Shane and Laurie have been hooking up while they think that Rick is dead but in the books it was implied but wasn't revealed that anything happened between the two of them until the prison arc and it was a big reveal
Really great first episode. Loved the part where Rick was batting those zombies. Can't wait for next week's.

That was happening already in the comic in the early issues, the readers just had no idea until later. I guess, like you said, it's those surprises for the comic followers , and I'm guessing we are to expect more like that.

I think I'm about to watch the first episode again. I really enjoyed it. I'm bummed I never read the comic before. I love zombie movies mainly because I love apocalyptic movies and post apocalyptic movies, where as I know a lot of people love zombies and zombie movies due to the horror side of the genre. Which do you lean towards? So had I known the comic was more about, if not entirely from what I've now read, post apocalyptic side of it, surviving after the shit hits the fan, I would have been all over this. I assumed as I bet most people have that the book was about a fair share of people becoming zombies being infected and running around with terror. Although there still is some of that I like that this is more about the aftermath and staying alive while trying to figure out where everything has landed after it all hit the fan.
I've got 2 major complaints about the second episode
1. zombies don't pick up rocks and bash in windows
2. zombies don't climb fences...that's going to screw things up with the prison
" I've got 2 major complaints about the second episode 1. zombies don't pick up rocks and bash in windows 2. zombies don't climb fences...that's going to screw things up with the prison "agreed, but.. I think they will have some great stuff for the prison. I'm just excited to see whats up their sleeves.
they are giving a level of consciousness to the zombs that shouldn't be there. When Rick and Glenn were walking through the dead with all the blood and guts on them one of the zombs looked at them with recognition, it was the same one that was one of the first to go after Rick in episode one, kinda looks like Kevin Bacon, but its not. Anyways this is also seen when Morgan Jones wife is on there porch banging on the door on the first movie. I dunno maybe nothing but it makes for good story when the zombs have a level of consciousness.
oh and there's no "n" word in a post apocalyptic zombie world.

smart zombies scare me...I have no plan for them...same with running zombies
yeah, oddly enough I got the description from my dad as well, kevin bacon, said it was his cameo to keep up the 6 degrees of kevin bacon.
Smart zombies actually scare me more than running zombies, like the ones in the 28 days later movies they might be able to run but they're still predictable. smart one who knows what they're going to do. I just watched the crazies on Netflix, it listed it under the zombie genre, that's not why we watched it but I and my wife did notice the genre listings. Any ways we got in an argument because i said they weren't zombies she says they were.

"I don't consider anything a zombie unless it's slow and stupid....28 Days Later had no zombies....same for Crazies
well for the most part I agree
in 28 days later they still desired flesh, could smell the living, went after sound and light, were no longer there former selves. They also turned the way zombies do, they were reanimated dead flesh.
in the crazies they used guns, tools, made plans, tied people up, had no desire for flesh etc etc, definitely not zombies.
"This is one of the few sites that I've seen where users know that the Walking Dead TV series was not a rip-off of 28 Days Later or that it's not a TV show based on Night of the Living Dead. Non-comic book fans are infinitely clueless. "
Most people haven't a clue that Wanted was based on a comic, either. Heck, even I didn't know that until I watched the movie myself.
Does the Walking Dead not have some sort of "based on the comic by Robert Kirkman" disclaimer in the credits?
I love watching the walking dead! I can watch episodes over and over, and the intense parts are just as intense.
another amazing episode...I'm so glad that it's so different from the book cause I've been surprised with every moment
just friggin awesome. we finished tonight's and my mother actually declared this is her favorite show now.
