Hopefully you've been reading Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead comic. If you haven't or if you're currently catching up on the weekly Walking Dead series, you might not know about the Governor. If that's the case, stop reading now except make a note that there's a Walking Dead novel coming in October.
For the rest of you, you know that the Governor was one of the greatest villains Rick Grimes and the survivors had to face. Now we have a novel by Robert Kirkman coming co-authored by horror genre vet Jay Bonansinga. This will be the first in a three book series and hits store shelves October 11.
The Governor was the leader of the walled-off town of Woodbury with a sick sense of justice. He forced prisoners to battle in an arena for the townspeople's amusement and chopped off the appendages of anyone that crossed him. What we don't really know is how exactly he became the man he is. Who was he before the zombie outbreak and what drove him to such extremes?
Robert Kirkman is thrilled to finally tell us more of the story.
There are many pieces of the overall Walking Dead puzzle that just don't fit in the comic book series. The Governor's story is one of them. I'm thrilled to have the opportunity for these stories to be told and working with Jay Bonansinga to bring them into the world has been amazing.== TEASER ==
