One of the biggest mysteries in 'The Walking Dead' comic and television show is how did it all begin? We never know what caused the zombie outbreak and don't get to see the moments right after it all begins. It's been close to a year since the first season of AMC's 'The Walking Dead' began its six-episode run. The second season begins on October 16 and AMC has released six webisodes to whet our appetite for more Walking Dead.

You might recall the "Bicycle Girl" from the first episode. Now we get to find out more.

@JimmyOlsen1: Try watching them directly from AMC's site. I caught the episodes yesterday on the site when they were uploaded and they worked just fine, even though I don't live in the US. To my surprise, and out of curiosity, when I tried to check them embedded on other sites, like here on Comic Vine now, they wouldn't work.

story is good, but the acting and cg effects are a little subpar.

Holy crap this was intense, makes me want to see more webisodes. Anyone else keep seeing the "Top Secret Recipe" premiere trailer for that cooking show, made me actually want to see that show also.

Now I want to know what happens to the kids, hope they are in season 2

Did AMC make this? If so...I pray they do an origin episode of that zombie girl in the first episode of the first season. The first Zombie Rick Grimes kills.

This raised a few questions for me. How much memory does a zombie retain and for how long? Step-mom made it to the house so was she "fresh" enough for a spark of recognition to remain? And she was put out of commission for a while with a shotgun blast to the midsection. Again was it because she was a zombie newbie? Ohhhh and the chick that bit her, I didn't see any bitemarks on her soooooo how did she become a zombie? So does it really matter if you get bitten or not, is whatever that makes a zombie airborn and no matter how you die you come back? Hmmmm?

So excited for Season 2!!!

Wow, nice prelude! Probably best they still don't let us know just what caused the outbreak. It limits the mystery. But yes I'm so seeing webisodes ala-Heroes going on with this to make the show a more richer experience in entertainment! Darn it...only 12 days to go...

Poor poor lil' puppy. =/ She was zonked, soundly sleeping on my outstretched legs.. as I was watching these and when I reached the part where the Zombie in the car popped up and bit the lady towards the end, I SCREAMED. I mean I effin' SCREAMMMED!

Poor lil' poor pup yipped and must have jumped a foot in the air. Ha.ha. I scared the crap out of her. =)

Thanks for posting these. Absolutely disgusting videos. Hahah. I can't wait for the season to begin and for my new Volume 4 & 5 Walking Dead HC's to arrive.

Yeah they do show in the comics that you don't have to be bitten to turn into a zombie (Rick digs up Shane's body), but normally a bite will be somewhere lethal, or there seems to be some kind of associated degenerative disorder
