Rick finds that his friend Shane helped his wife Lori and son Carl stay safe and he meets the other

people in the camp. The young man who helped Rick in the city is named Glenn, a family of four Allen, his wife Donna and their twin boys Billy and Ben, Dale is a elderly man who has a rv, Jim a middle aged man, a young women named Carol and her daughter Sophia and college-aged sisters, Amy and Andrea.

Rick and Shane plan on going on a hunt for some food but before they leave Dale tells Rick his friend is not happy that he survived because he loves Lori but Rick does not believe it is true.

While Rick and Shane are hunting a group of the female member of the camp start to do the wash by a nearby stream, as they come back to the camp they are attacked and Donna is almost bitten but Dale is able behead the zombie before it can. Rick and Shane run back to camp and Rick comforts his wife as Shane looks on clearly jealous.
