    the cure

Quote: Mystique to Rogue- "Race traitor! To even consider this genocide is--"

    Synopsis:
The day has finally arrived, it’s time for Rogue’s operation…you know….. the one where she is cured of her mutant abilities? Yeah that one! She still wants be just a regular person ( she‘s such a bore and one trick pony). She’s being checked out by good old Dr. Agee while in a hidden observation booth, Senator Brickman, his lovely wife Mallory, and Special Agent Henry Peter Gyrich (the douchbag!) discuss the “mutant problem” (my god Gyrich your even more whiney than rogue!) they also discuss what Dr. Agee’s operation; if it is successful; means for them and their plight.

Rogue is about to undergo the operation when she begins to have second thoughts (I wonder why? Could it be she realizes how stupid she really is?). The nurse then strolls in and shocking everyone; pulls a machine gun! She then tries to kill Dr. Agee and its only rogue’s invulnerability that saves them both. She manages to save him then pursues the would be killer. In the hall Rogue comes face to face with her adopted mom, turns out the nurse is actually Mystique.
She goes to Mystique’s place where they have long philosophical debate about being normal as opposed to being who you are. In the end they start to duke it out. Rogue ends things by

touching Mystique rendering her unconscious and gives rogue access to both her power and her mind.

Using Mystique’s power, Rogue infiltrates Mutopia and decides to destroys the “curing machine.” She would like (no love) to use it, but Rogue knows that she has a responsibility to her fellow mutants as an X-man to ensure that this “cure” would never be forcefully used on any mutant. So she makes a sacrifice for her fellow mutant maybe even condemning herself to a life without physical contact.

½ a world away in Anchorage, Jean is no longer comatose and she’s taken to a hospital where she gets a check-up by Michael Twoyoungmen (Alpha Flight’s Shaman….the Indian guy). Her telepathic powers are gone, she cant even feel Scotts mind in the unique rapport they used to share. Scott tries to comfort her the best he can but she is pretty much inconsolable.

    The Good!
Solid story, which is just a big character piece for rogue but it was pretty good for what it was. Art fit the story as well.

    The Bad!
Not enough team time but hey that’s just nitpicking.

    The ugly!
    Good art and good story
