This is one of those issues that has a billion artists render different portions of the story.  Sadly, they included Jae Lee.  I love Jae Lee.  His art in this issue is for Magneto's past.  It is beautifully and painfully done.  Unfortunately, the rest of the artists pale in comparison, making the rest of the art in this issue merely so-so.

This issue marks the funeral of Ilyana Rasputin, but the only touching moments in all the 60 pages is Charles' lonely lament and Storm's two-page eulogy (which is nicely done).  The rest of the book simply preaches Xavier's Dream versus Magneto's philosophies.  Page after page prattles on about the Dream.  Then, when Magneto enters, page after page prattles on about mutant salvation.  Could this have been done in far less pages?  Indeed.  Could this have happened in an issue that wasn't supposed to be the "final" resting place for Darkchilde?  Certainly.  In my book, not well executed.
