    Caught me by surprize!!

Gerard Way (MCR) hit it off with this comic-I did not know what to expect but I read a article in Wizard mag and found it worth checking out. The story leads into the series with some back round that leave a heap of questions. The characters are really not likeable but grow on U. Clearly there is a sibling rivalry and it will be a focal point in the series. U get a insight on what their powers and how they were trained. Their (prof. X)/father figure-the Monocle- is a complete opposite (prof. X) and almost can be called a bad father figure. He clearly has favorites and doesn't mind showing it. The begging leads the story to have some messed up relationships between the team. The world Way created is fresh and has promise. This comic leaves a lot to the imagination, but hopefully it will all be reveled. I definitely will be collecting every issue. It is worth getting.

I had read several articles about his dreams of bringing this to fruition and his passion impressed me.The artwork is stylized with a hint of childish likeness as if a Saturday morning cartoon storyboard was laid in front of you. Lovely heavy inking gives a goth's touch without being uber darkedy-dark-vampy. And we all know Dave St...

So I'm a bit late to the party, but figured I'd give my two cents about a comic I've heard about in whispers across comic shops.  Keep in mind I haven't read any other issues beyond this one, so my familiarity with the characters is limited and I may not be giving the series a fair shot based on one first issue.  That said, I expected more than what I got.  Umbrella Academy has a cool name, a cool logo, and what seems to be a dark and ominous start.  A group of kids were all born at the same tim...
