    Gods And Mutants

In this issue the battle between The Ultimates and the mutants in the Savage land. It starts of with Ka-zar giving a history lesson as to how the mutants came to be there, and what Magneto did to the humans who inhabited it before they arrived. I liked the use of black and white to show that we are in a flashback, yet I am not a fan of Ka-Zar and Shanna never standing any way other than in a pose. It looks silly. He actually is never shown looking full on to the audience. Something of his is always turned away from the audience.
That is just the beginning however. This issue is all about the fight. Seeing as how this is the next to the last issue, it is also the "darkest before the dawn" issue. So most of the vattles go badly.  Except the interaction between Thor and Unus The Untouchable.  He was most definitely touched.
The battle rages also. I especially liked the handeling of Valkyrie by Mastermind and Pyro. I don't know, but it seemed like that was the most evil of the actions taken by the villains of the story.  Back at their home base Wanda and Hank are dealing with the robots, but that part of the story is treated like an add on. It never gels. Nor does it succeed at creating a sense of tension. This is a solid issue,  I was not happy that Magneto could have an effect on Thors Hammer. The whole enchanted bit kind of throws it for me.
