Hank Pym has left the Ultimates and is working with a new super hero group known as The Defenders while taking on the identity of Ant-Man. The Defenders, made up of Powerman, Valkyrie, Son Of Satan, Hellcat, Nighthawk, and The Black Knight, hope to be the world's new favorite Superhero team. On top of that, Hank strikes up a relationship with the 19 year old Valkyrie, and attempts to give new technology to Nick Fury, who declines. Later, The Defenders learn about a group of teenagers who are planning on stealing from a warehouse late at night. After setting up the proper media connections, The Defenders split up and patrol the district around the warehouses. Nighthawk is injured by the teenagers in a botched ambush, with Giant Man narrowly saving him. Unfortunately, Hank is photographed as a 60-foot nude man, which further damages his credibility and puts him on thinner ice with S.H.I.E.L.D. due to them owning the rights to the growth formula. Finally, after learning that The Defenders are not who they said they were, Hank is visited by the S.H.I.E.L.D. operative that has been leaking high security files to the media.

    Issue #6 is my 666th review ... Kooky 0

Hank Pym reaches a low point when he joins with a California based superhero group calling themselves The Defenders, whose only outstanding trait seems to be that none of them has any real superpowers.  Things go from bad to worse when this group of superhero wannabes get their assess handed to them by a bunch of teenagers trying to steal cigarrettes. Ultimately it ends with Giant Man having a photo of himself taken in all of his giant glory.    Obviously this issue is meant as a tension break...

Continuing the Story with Much Needed Laughs 0

So far this series we've discovered that S.H.I.E.L.D. has a mole, Banner has been executed for the Hulk Incident, Hank Pym has been slipping further and further into obscurity, and Thor has been stripped of his powers and shown to possibly be a raving lunatic.Heavy stuff, but this issue manages to delay the story another month and focus on some much needed laughs while expanding on the world surrounding the Ultimates. It's very interesting to see non-Super people attempt to be Superheroes, and t...

    New Heroes 0

Since the Ultimates have been known as the world's premerie superhero team, many lives have been saved in the past few months and years. Still, what about the less fortunate heroes that don't have the equipment or money like Tony Stark or Spider-man, this issue of the Ultimates tells that tale. The Defenders are a group of costumed heroes without any cool headquarters or powers for that matter, but when Hank Pym(Ant-Man) steps forward into the group, things don't actualy change that much.  I enj...
