Freddy continues his quest to pass each trial. In the Middle East, he is attempting to gain Courage along side Achilles. As they are under attack, their main priority must be defeating an empath demon that would grow to exponentially with all the hatred in that part of the world.
Achilles appears to be mortally wounded and completing the mission falls in Freddy's hands. Facing the huge demon, he transforms into plain Freddy and literally jumps into the beasts mouth. Once inside, he begins to worry about not being able to breathe or speak. Quickly calming himself and feeling the magic inside of him, he utters the word, "Shazam" and the beast is destroyed.
Even with the demon destroyed, Freddie feels he's failed. By transforming himself into a mortal and facing the demon, he's passed the trial of Courage.
