Titans together, B%TCH!!!
After years of being separated, the first five Teen Titans decides to reform the team.
The Good
I have read on a couple of sites that the art for this series was horrible, but I really liked the style. A tidy bit cartoony, but I like it that way. There may not be THAT much action in it, but this issue IS mostly about the Fabulous Five chatting in a restaurant and after talking about it for some time agrees on becoming a team again, even though they all are kinda busy(like Flash being part of the JLA, and Nightwing being both policeman AND superhero in Bludhaven). And that is one of the things I really like about it; the series acknowledge that some of these characters are used in other books, and find a way to make it work(unlike Marvel, where Wolverine can be part of a basillion teams at the same time). The best thing about the issue is the dialog between the characters. It really feels like they are old friends, and you want to read about all five of them together.
The Bad
One of the reasons to why the original Titans decides to make a team is that the superhero-sidekick is a dying art, so young teen-heroes wont have the same training Nightwing, Flash, Tempest, Arsenal and Troia had. So beside saving the day, the Titans will be a place to guide and train the next generation.
.. And there are only three teen-heroes on the team. Don't get me wrong, I like this team, but only three newbie-heroes and seven veterans? I get that it's because the seniors have allot of stuff to do, and some of them has to leave from time to time, but still...
The Verdict
Despite not so much action(but good action) I would say that this is an awesome way to start a series. Really fun to read and great art. Not to forget a good setup. Highly recommended.
