While out on patrol, Arthur and the Tick run into Leonardo da Vinci. He tells them that he and other notable scientists have been captured and brought to the present by a madman who wants to send a bomb back to the Renaissance to plunge the world back into the Dark Ages and then use the inventors to redo their work while taking the credit. Leonardo escapes to find help. The madman pulls some Mongolians into the present to hunt him down. The Mongols fail and the Tick leads the charge to the madman, who is now supported by a time-traveling army. The madman releases his bomb once all his lost and the Tick travels to the past to defuse it. With the past safe, the Tick and Arthur send each inventor back to their own time.
