Certainly Not A Comedy, But It Has Its Moments

Though much of this issue can easily be seen as predictable, this month's contribution was not terrible, at least for this series. It's certainly not funny by any means, but has some interesting reflection, as brief and inconsequential as it is.

Now that Boomerang ratted out his gang, Luke Cage and Iron Fist leap into action to defeat the Sinister Six. The only problem is, they're not really doing anything illegal or evil yet. However, this doesn't stop our two heroes from pummeling them. Why? ... Not really sure. It doesn't make sense for their characters or the situation. This issue is generally rife with that sort of lack of logistical sense to it all, which is rather frustrating.

Chameleon continues to be the weak excuse of a primary villain within the series, unsurprisingly. He just doesn't have any real threat to back him up here. Previously, he's always been portrayed as something of a lone gun who is hired by others or works for his own reasons, generally for cash. So why he doesn't change into an Owl Gang goon and go collect the head for himself, seeing as he can leave the jail whenever he pleases, makes no sense to me. But why Boomerang feels threatened by him also baffles me a bit.

Finally, Boomerang, once again, is the only person to get any expansion of character here, despite the opportunity for others to have some good character building while Boomerang was away. I guess this is just Boomerang's story, and I need to accept that; it's completely understandable, and all the characters generally pull their weight. I think this may just be a pet peeve of mine.

However, that doesn't excuse the generally poor execution of the narrative, which really drags this series down with every passing month.

What a buncha bull, killing off my boy Shocker, i'm done with this Book. These Villains deserve better. With that out of the way, the issue itself was good overall. The fight with the Heroes for Hire wasn't as onesided as i thought. The story with Boomerang is getting dragged out though, we're a few issues into the story and still nothing happened.A very big issue i have with this book, aside of the weak Shocker version, is that Chameleon is played up to some super villain of some sorts. He's not...
