No innocent bystander
This doesn't seem to be a series which at the moment is capable of any groundbreaking or memorable events, but with this issue the series finally finds a niche which it can succeed in. The first story arc where Hawkman deals with an aggressive alien didn't really seem to fit right, but here where there is a slight reimagining of the Gentleman Ghost the series hits its stride a lot better. It seems better that for a series that is trying to find a balance between the occult and science fiction that it went too far to one extreme in the first story arc, and here meets the challenge more head on, as Hawkman must deal with the Mortis Orb but treats it is a much more analytic way. I felt as though it worked here, and while this issue wasn't great, it was good enough.
