Okay, though I really enjoyed this issue, there was also a lot of weirdness in it, namely Cain and Abel who do intrigue me quite a bit, which is the reason for them being the title of this review. Anyways, the basic plot of this issue is Morpheus returning to The Dreaming and finding it drastically changed and trying to regain his strength so all can be restored, thus beginning his quest to once again possess his three power items, the helm, the ruby and the pouch.
Now, for my views on some parts of the issue, Cain and Abel of course, the three sisters, the state of The Dreaming and the future mission from the least interesting in my opinion to the most. First off, The Dreaming, now after reading Lucifer first I am confused to learn that The Dreaming crumbles when Dream is absent for in Lucifer he is on vacation the entire series and its just fine, anyways, I think its cool to see one of the most powerful beings in existence left as nothing and returning to a place he once ruled only to find it no longer a pale shadow of its former glory, I think the weakness of Morpheus helps make him a more interesting character, at least for the time being.
Than there are the three sisters, an interesting trio, I loved seeing them outwit Dream with his foolish questions and would really love to see them show up again, great characters in my opinion, but than again I love mythology.
Now for this quest that it seems Dream shall be heading on, all three journeys intrigue me and I hope for a great story arc, but have no idea what to expect. For he is bound to have encounters with certain groups and individuals I would really love to see react to his arrival...John Constantine, the Justice League, and of course...Lucifer Morningstar.
But, now, back to Cain and Abel, it seems like Cain has some plans, I assume that Dream would not like, and they involve some sort of gargoyle the two hatched. But see, the part that intrigued me most is that it seems Cain kills Abel on a regular basis and then Abel simply cries about it and remains devoutly following his brother. This makes me curious as to what may now be in store for their relationship, especially with the arrival of Goldie.
