Merger with the Soviet Super Soldiers

The team of Supreme Soviets renamed itself as The People's Protectorate after the fall of the U.S.S.R. They remained doing the same missions and helped out around their country. Eventually the team would break up and its members merged with the Soviet Super Soldiers to form the new Russian team, Winter Guard.

    A New Protectorate

After Darkstar's death, the newly formed Winter Guard began to experience greater discord among its members. Vanguard, Blind Faith, Vostok, Powersurge, Perun, Fantasma, Steel Guardian, and Sibercat resigned from the Winter Guard in disgust and were considered 'missing'. Several of the former members of the Winter Guard formed a new team they named The Protectorate and confronted the Time Lord - Immortus -- to aid in the return of Darkstar. The Protectorate served as his personal security force until their return to Earth. Currently, the team fights to protect Russia against terror of all forms. The members of the team currently include Vanguard, Starlight, and Powersurge.
