    Born Again

    The Story:

After the harrowing events of Trinity War, the Stranger is returned to life by his mysterious dog benefactor.

    The Good:

The best news is that the Stranger is back! After being skipped over for a Villains' Month book, (seriously, Sin Eater doesn't get an issue?) the Stranger returns to existence. Regrouping with his young acquaintance Chris, he is given new marching orders by the dog that's been guiding him throughout this series. Since being rescued from Heaven, Chris himself begins to show some signs of new found abilities of his own. Doctor 13 also returns to join the cast of this comic.

I really enjoyed the Stranger getting a new direction and seeing where it goes. I especially like the fact that there's an air of mystery around what exactly this new direction is going to mean. I think in the modern comic scene, we're given the secret way too soon and that isn't the case here. I love a bit of suspense and this book has it.

Fernando Blanco handles the art and he does a really good job here. I hope he sticks around for a few more issues.

    The Bad:

The comic is apparently a Forever Evil tie-in but there is only one reference to that series here. I didn't go in buying it for the tie-in but it is misleading.

    The Score:

    4/5

I am glad this book is back. I like where its going. Dematteis has been great on this book and I am looking forward to his work on Justice League Dark also.
