The trust is an amazing series with a great writer. Bendis is doing a great job with the cliffhangers. I think alot of people wont like this book because it is more of a piece of a larger puzzle and after the series is over when people read all of the books together i think they will love it. The only problem is that everyone is being too paranoid about the whole skrull thing so my prediction is that either Tony Stark is a skrull and the civil war was a set up to weaken the earths defenses (what better way to do that than to pin the organized defense against each other) or because marvel doesn't like to keep things buried Steve Rogers was a skrull and that is what actually got killed. Anyways this New Avengers series reminds me alot of the type of stuff that happened in the Infinite Crisis side books. Marvel and DC are racing towards a bang but what publisher will come out ahead?

First of all, the writing was excellent-the story told by cage (the only one who did not turn Symbiote) and his girl in bed->NOTE: If you haven't been in bed with your girl at night as you go thru your day or tell some off the wall story than you are not going to get it. This is a very intimate time, the day is over and you bond with your better half, relaxed and safe, but in Cages case they are not safe their is a invasion happenning. The contrast is great. So he tells this story and she is competely unaware of it strangely because she was sleeping?? Clue perhaps?? The virus hits the city and even our heroes are turing venom, but the beauty was this mini-event is just a diversion for the real story. I don't buy the Dr. Doom thing, it probally is to get the heroes/Stark out of town. Plus when have you heard of a symbioate being like a virus, no way, it is a Skull behind the Bull%!#@. Dont forget we have gap in time between WWH(Hulk) and Civil War. Their are so many peices to put together. I won't make any judgements yet, the story is unfolding. Because Tony takes the Skull body to the Illuminati (ILLuminati #5) and we find out that BlackBolt is a skull, and it looked like Thor and Colossus also. Then Wolverine finding Spiderwoman in the shower, Wow, this was a great, his escape was even better. Then at the end the New Avengers continue the case of the stolen money, which leads right to the Hood. Which in-turn peices together the last issues. Come on where is the Love, the artwork is fantastic. And the next issue looks to be a all out brawl. Who cares who is in it, their is a bigger story here people, sit back and enjoy the ride, U cant predict everything

This book had had a wild ride and I know it gets more up and down reviews from fans but im still reading. I liked this issue.

Symbiotes! Yep, there were plenty of them. I liked the concept, and the combat was decent, but a chemical bomb? Seems like a stretch. Still, htat aside I was down for some symbiote action and while it didn't serve much purpose (at least not obviously) other than to bring the teams together... it still was some action downtown.

Dr Doom? Why the sudden Doom reference? Dr Doom dropped a chemical symbiote bomb? Its not sitting entirely well but im waiting to see how its handled.

Speaking of the teams. Yes, they were face to face again. There was some fighting, and then when the smoke cleared they worked together and showed that despite political lines they were who they had always been. Heroes. I liked that. Small point, but it was a nice thing to see.

One of my favorite things? The book was told, almost entirely, past tense by Cage to his wife in the middle of the night while they were in bed. You could imagine their hushed tones and the silence all around them as he related (in his own way) the events of the previous day or so. It was complete tranquility versus complete chaos. I liked that contrast.

Art. Yep, the art was better this book for some reason. Leinil is not one of my favorite artists but I enjoyed the art this book.

Wolverine. Wow. Sneaking up on Spiderwoman in the shower. Well, it just goes to show. You can't hide from this man. Ever.

The end? Crazy. Cage says they'd need some backup and suddenly the splash page is covered in heroes. Im guessing Dr Strange is at work here. Thor next to Iron Man? Howard the Duck? Many heroes that wouldn't ever be in the same place? Including all of the Mighty Avengers who were only moments ago getting ready to go off to Latveria? Yeah, it screams illusion. I think it was supposed to.

All in all? Great book! Lots of fun. Keep them coming!

I wanted to like it more than I did...I was really grooving until the end...ok Cage decides he wants some more firepower to take on some goons...fine...I understand...and don't get me wrong...he came with a lot, but cmon...Howard the fucking duck...you gotta be shittin me...I felt so silly sitting here reading this after that...WHY would Cage call him and the Punisher was there too...I just don't see it.

Now the whole Skrull thing I like...I also liked the whole Jessica/Logan shower scene...very well done...the art wasn't even all that bad this time...so overall it was a good issue until the stupid end...hopefully it is just a hologram.

    Better than the last issue

Well, I practically forced myself to buy this. After the huge disappointment that was New Avengers #35, I had decided not to continue with the series at all. But, I'm a sucker for a symbiote. Luckily, this one was pretty symbiote-packed, which was not handled quite as well as I was hoping it would be. In fact, it still wasn't really a huge plot point in the comic. They could have used any kind of stupid plot twist to make the two teams get together, but they decided to go with some kind of chemical bomb. Color me forgetful, but I don't seem to recall that being how symbiotes worked in all the other times I've ever read a symbiote story.

On the plus side, this issue had a significant lack of "people sitting at a table". However, I officially consider the series to have been Bendis'd. I won't be buying any more of them.
