It was the worst day in Avengers history. The Scarlet Witch suffered a total nervous breakdown after losing control of her reality-altering powers. In the chaos created around the breakdown, beloved Avengers Hawkeye, Ant-Man and the Vision lost their lives. Many of the other Avengers were hurt, both emotionally and physically. Without funding to keep going, the rest of the team quietly disbanded.
That was six months ago...
A mysterious figure meets with the villain Electro to hire him to break break out some one out of The Raft,a maximum security installation. Later that day Matt Murdock along with his law partner Foggy Nelson and their hired body guard Luke Cage arrive at Rykers. The 3 are greeted by Jessica Drew aka Spiderwoman who is now a Shield agent at the Raft and acts as their chaperone while their there. Jessica begins to show them around including showing the prisoners who are incarcerated their including The Purple Man much to Luke Cage's disgust. Foggy who is uncomfortable being there due to all the most dangerous villains being in one place is furthered panicked by the sudden black out that also occurs throughout the whole city. Spiderman who had planned for a quite evening watching movies with Mary Jane is force to leave and webs onto a helicopter to arrive on Rykers island as the helicopter goes down due to an electric surge caused by Electro. As spiderman climbs up the wall he is greeted by Captain America who had also just arrived. The doors to the prisons begin to open thanks to Electro who upon releasing the many villains there tells them they owe him. Elsewhere at the lower floors of The Raft at Rykers,Foggy Nelson is in a state of panic and Jessica Drew attempts to bring them to the stairs. Matt disagrees and tells them that the man they had been come here to meet is the Sentry and also happens to be the most powerful superhero in the world and he is incarcerated here because he killed his wife.
