In an earlier review I asked why we were not seeing the villains defending their own planet. Well, this is the issue that addresses that question. That being said, the villains on the cover are not exactly the ones used in the story.  Instead we have a group of B list villains. At least this is a good book that gives us some insight on the villains ... umm ... outlook  ( sorry ) on things. I would have liked to see this story given its own mini series. As it is, it is enjoyable and worth the money.

Nothing New In Another Repetitive Secret Invasion Tie-in

I have to say this issue of The New Avengers is somewhat of a false advertisement. The title of this comic is The New Avengers but none of The New Avengers even appear in a single frame of this issue. Tony Stark has an appearance but technically he is part of the Mighty Avengers now. This issue is advertised as a Secret Invasion tie-in but there is no tie-in. A tie-in would imply that The New Avengers would be in the issue but of course they are not. This is becoming more and more frequent as the Secret Invasion dwells on. It is as if the skrulls have invaded every part of Marvel to the point where the should just change the title of this series from The New Avengers to simple just Skrulls. The story is mediocre and I think the ending was a little corny. The story is very similar to that of issue #44 in that the entire issue only consists of a person being tortured for information. The main differences are that the characters are different from issue #44 and we do not get any new information. I am getting really sick of these Secret Invasion tie-ins. All of these tie-ins are extremely slow paced and repetitive. The one thing I truly enjoyed about this issue was the art. The art was great but that is to be expected with The New Avengers.
