Spoilers are in this review, for those of you who might read but have not yet. I have known ever since Mr. Fantastic found a cocoon with Jean Greys body, that Marvel is not the place to go when it comes to wanting pure change in the status quo. Even these "Big Events" barely do any real damage to the "way things should be".
So I was really waiting for them to show us how the Captain America from the ship was not a skrull. I figured they would come up with a reason Steven Rogers did not change back when he was shot. This is more of the set up for the Invasion. The surprises are beginning to wear thin, yet the issues have still remained interesting.

not sure if this issue was a good use of my time?

I give this story 2.5 because it only revealed three things

    1. how the skrulls were able to cloak some skrulls as spys and others as suicide warriors/sleeper agents like Ironman and Captain America and all the other retro looking Avengers.

    2. It revealed how the disguise skrulls were able to retain its targets memories, which I found extremely scary.

    3. That Mocking bird is a fake.

I think the most important fact of all is the color of the cloak or cloth (whatever they use) they use to transform the skrulls into human targets. In Mighty Avenger #15 and New Avengers #42 skrulls that are shown being transformed are covered with a green cloth. In New Avengers #43 its a entirely different color cloth used for its sleeper agents and sucide agents. I'm not going to tell you the color of it and spoil the surprise, you'll just have read the issue and see for it yourself.
This issue is a continution of New Avengers #41 and it connects to Secret Invasion #1 and Secret Invasion #2

The story I'm not so sure of, but the artwork is fantastic! and suits the story very well.
