A boring issue, but that twist ending though!

In this issue, Frankenstein, Hawkman, and Amethyst find one of Hawkman's missing partners; Agent Faraday is looking to cure the world of super powered people; Ethan is setting up Rampage to distract, or even destroy, Superman; and 35 years in the future, we find out that Batman is still alive!

    The Good

Well it looks like these two will be sharing a body, and a mind. Can't wait to see how this turns out!

The last story of this issue, is what saved this issue for me! The stories that were featured in this issue were boring and dragged out, and I had no expectation of a stellar ending; however, I was glad to be proved wrong. The writers delivered a really intriguing story that shows Batman of the future (35 years later to be exact), to still be alive! But not only is he alive, he's going to be sharing a body [and mind] with the Joker?! Whaaat?! Killer ending. The writers really saved this issue by adding a twist I would've not expected. I can't wait to see what the writers have in store with this story!

    The Bad

    How boring.
    How boring.

Like I said earlier, the stories that were featured in this issue (excluding the Batman and Joker one) were all boring and dragged out. S.H.A.D.E agents, Frankenstein and Amethyst, teaming up with Stormwatch member, Hawkman, to fight off against a former teammate named, the Engineer; Agent Faraday wanting to rid the world of superpowers; and Ethan wanting to go back home, but needs Rampage to distract Superman, all these stories have had their great moments before, but now they are just boring. (And dragged out.) You can tell with how these stories were handled, that the writers were trying really hard to make this issue seem really interesting and edge of your seat. However, the writers should've focused more on how each of these stories would benefit the next big step in their respected stories. Because, each of the main stories that were featured in here, had one element that was more significant than the others. (Ultimately to setup for what will happen next.) If the writers focused more on the next big step, instead of suspense (like what they did with the Batman and Joker one) this entire issue would be perfect!

    The Verdict

2 out of 5, until the next one! (Onwards and upwards!) I'm on Twitter, @Lol_Clark. (Plus, check out my movie review for Batman: Assault on Arkham.)

Frankenstein and Hawkman debate the practical merits of diplomacy. Faraday menaces. And in the future, Brother Eye must appreciate a joke. The GoodSince showcasing the dire future waiting for the DC Universe in FUTURES END #0, this series has suffered from a lack of urgency in its primary timeline. This issue, however, opens and closes with scenes that bring the dangers of the future back into focus. In the first scene, we see what is likely the first character to be overtaken an artificial intel...
